Easy Authentic Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles

  • 1 lb ground beef (or half beef, half Italian sausage)

  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles: Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, then drain.

  2. Make the sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan. Cook beef with garlic until browned. Stir in marinara, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.

  3. Prepare ricotta mix: In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, and Parmesan.

  4. Assemble: In a greased baking dish, spread a thin layer of sauce. Layer noodles, ricotta mix, mozzarella, and more sauce. Repeat until ingredients are used, ending with sauce and mozzarella.

  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15–20 more minutes until bubbly and golden.

  6. Serve: Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Extra flavor: Add fresh basil to the sauce.

  • Make ahead: Assemble a day early and bake when ready.

  • Freezer-friendly: Store portions for quick future meals.
